What would happen if tomorrow all the computers at your workplace stopped working?

The Apocalypse. Work would screech to a halt.

The IT field has become the cornerstone of our workplace. From top to bottom every level of industry now depends almost entirely on IT equipment of some sort or another.

When something is that essential, why wouldn’t it be taken more seriously?

The essentiality (that’s a new word, you can use it though!) of accurately tracking IT equipment cannot be understated. For one reason with thousands of sub-categories:

COST.

Cost of purchasing, cost of replacing, cost in terms of time and productivity. The list goes on and on.

Large companies employ double or even triple redundant systems in order to prevent an IT outage. That outlay of money should sufficiently prove the point that Information Technologies are incredibly important.
