After hours and hours of capturing and analyzing data: the moment has come. Time for action. Time for
Disposal
It’s so exciting! Whatever obsolete, and unnecessary items that are still being used will now magically disappear! It’s glorious absolutely glorious!
Step One: Get Yourself A Truck.
(That handsome driver is yours truly!)
Step Two: Load The Truck
Notice the pallets. Make sure you have some of those. You’ll need them later.
Step Three: Unload The Truck
I was to busy unloading the truck to really take any pictures.
Step Four: Drink Some Water

You’ll be thirsty by this point. Take a little break and get some refreshments.
Step Five: Secure Any Important Information
Hard Drives, company barcodes, logos, etc. Remove all of these. When an asset is disposed of, it should have nothing about it that would reveal who owned it. Anonymity is the start to security.
Three quick ways to destroy hard drives:
Crush Them.

Drill Them.
Miners not included; sorry.

Wipe them.
As in, use a program to remove all information

As I said before, this is where all the tedium pays off. Finally removing the old equipment, and potential security threats, from the office environment is great. It frees up space, cuts down on costs (especially for things like printers and copiers) and helps improve production. Newer equipment tends to work better and more consistently. Meaning your employees are able to work better. Less stress for all.
It’s essential to cap an inventory off with reconciliation, and then disposal. Keeps the lists cleaner that way.
